Jacquelyn Cecile Fowler, age 94 of Harrison, Arkansas died Tuesday, June 16, 2010. She was born in Dallas, Texas on August 25, 1915. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ross Fowler in 1997, and her daughter, Jacquelyn Jean Giles in 1988.
After graduating from high school in St. Louis, Missouri she moved to Harrison, Arkansas. She served on the Boone County Library Board for thirty years. She was one of two children with loving parents, Allen Louis Mallioux and Clara Frances Mallioux.
Jacquelyn is survived by one brother, Allen Louis "Sonny" Mallioux and wife Catherine of Harrison, Arkansas. She is also survived by one grandson, Greg Giles and wife Terri of Texarkana, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Karen Hughes and husband Kevin of Little Rock, Arkansas; also one nephew, Allen Ross Mallioux and wife Terri and their son Trevor, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two great-grandsons, Merrit Giles of Texarkana, Texas, and Brandon Hughes of Little Rock, Arkansas; and two great-granddaughters, Ashley Giles of Texarkana, Texas and Jordan Hughes of Little Rock, Arkansas.
The family would like to thank Dr. Blake Chitsey, Comfort Keepers, Nina Launius, Joyce Bailey, and all of their caregivers. They would also especially like to thank Betty and Raydean Palmer and Tim Gibbins for their many years of service.
Visitation was held at the funeral home beginning at 2:30 prior to the service.
Services were Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Rev. John Darnall officiating and Dan Allen speaking.
Pallbearers were Kevin Hughes, Brandon Hughes, Merrit Giles, Ross Mallioux, Tim Gibbins and Tilden Phillips.
Interment was in Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boone County Library, 221 W. Stephenson, Harrison, AR 72601, or to your favorite charity.
To Allen and the family I'm sorry for your loss. I worked at Sims Drug Store and always enjoyed waiting on her and we visited a lot when I wasn't busy. I always enjoyed her.
