September 22, 1916 - May 4, 2010

Fay Hodge, age 93, of Harrison, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper. He was born September 22, 1916, in Lead Hill, Arkansas, the son of Charlie Buck and Clara Bell (McPherson) Hodge. Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Choloe Hodge; a son, Larry Hodge; six brothers, Roy, Ray, Guy, Troy, Hershel and Voyd Hodge; and two sisters, Earsie Riddle and Oklar Yocham.

Fay was a member of the Oregon Flat Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served on the USS Chenango during World War II. He retired from Claridge Products and was a farmer. Fay was a fifty year Master Mason. He thoroughly enjoyed photography and gardening.

Fay Hodge is survived by his son and daughters-in-law, Garry and Fredda Hodge of Harrison and Karen Hodge of Deer, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Leesha McLeod of Harrison, Christy Kolb of Harrison, Travis Hodge of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and Todd Hodge of Mt. Sherman, Arkansas; and six great-grandchildren, Christina Behymer, Brandon Cope, Cortney Kolb, Jayden Hodge, Landon Hodge, Chloe Lynn Hodge and Josey Hodge.

Fay is also survived by his sister, Marie Phillips; a nephew, Johnny Jo Phillips, of Jasper; and a host of other family and dear friends throughout the community.

Visitation was Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Funeral service was Friday, May 7, 2010, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with Bro. Charles Hodge and Tommy Jackson officiating.

Pallbearers were Tommy Jackson, James Roy Jackson, Johnny Joe Phillips, Travis Hodge, Todd Hodge and Brandon Cope.

Honorary pallbearers were the Boone County Masonic Lodge #314 F&AM, the staff of Newton County Nursing Home and Fay's friends.

Interment was in Peel Cemetery.
