Avia Gladys Thomas, 95, of Greenbrier, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Conway Regional Medical Center.
She was born November 23, 1914, in Enola, to the late Thomas and Stacy Gray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Doyle Thomas, five brothers, Olen Gray, Donnie Gray, Herman Gray, Henry D. Gray, and Wilford Porter Gray, and two sisters, Cynthia McGaha and Ruby Fulmer.
She is survived by a daughter, Reva T. Battles of Greenbrier; two grandsons, Benny Thomas Battles of Greenbrier and Dr. Andrew Bruce Battles of Franklin, KY; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Cooper of Milburn, AR, Rebecca Sindle of Greenbrier, Eathan Battles and Wesley Battles, both of Castalian Springs, TN; and one great-great-grandchild, Lane Thomas Cooper of Milburn.
Funeral services were Saturday, December 12, at 1:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with burial following at Thorn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Benny Battles, Dr. Bruce Battles, Matt Sindle, Blake Cooper, Charles Thomas, and Gary Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Farris Thomas, Jimmy Earl Thomas, Eathan Battles and Wesley Battles.
Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital in Little Rock or to the charity of your choice.
