Jill & Family,
One of the most inspiring messgaes I have ever heard came from Greg during the time of closing the 223rd CBCS. His message of courage to the members of the 223rd was to accept the bad news of closing but take aggressive action and move with a positive mind fueled by inspiration and motivation from this temporary setback to something bigger and better. Don't let anger and dissappointment guide your way, he continued.

WOW!!!! I am so shocked to hear of this tremendous loss. Words cannot express my disbelief and sadness. I met Greg three years ago as he turned around in front of my house on his FJR motorcycle. I stopped him to ask what kind of bike he was riding and it was as if I had known the guy for years. I was in the market for a bike and because of this chance meeting I bought a Yamaha FJR. I didn't have the opportunity to serve with him but I had many opportunities to ride with him. He was always a joy to spend time with and always had a story to tell or some knowledge he needed to share. It has been a while since I've talked with him. Now, all I can think about is...I won't get to talk with him again until we meet in heaven. I didn't find out about this until today so I missed the funeral.....So Sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. He will be missed!!!!!

Brooks Family,

I roomed with Karen in college and she always talked of how proud she was of her little brother, Greg. When I met him, I understood why. Even as a teen, it was evident he was a fine young man who already knew his purpose in life. Greg, Chris Foreman, and I all left for the Academy from Little Rock the same day. We got to know each other while we were still seniors going to different high schools in town and kept in touch all the years the Academy. I was deeply saddened to hear of Lt Col Brooks passing. I worked for Maj Brooks when he was the Commander of the 223rd at Hot Springs. I first met him in New Orleans, LA when we were there for Hurricane Katrina. He was a fine person and will be greatly missed by all. He was always very pleasant and had a huge smile.
