Bessie Bufford was born March 22, 1915 in Ben, Arkansas to John and Nancy Ann (Sutton) Richardson.
She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Concord. Bessie was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her son, Melvin Bufford of Drasco; brother, Lonnie Richardson of Mtn. View; one grandchild, Jeff Bufford and three step-grandchildren, Travis Turner, Holly Fowler and Ires Gomez and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Bufford; her parents, John and Nancy Ann Richardson; sisters, Sarah Cates, Zadie Allcorn, Adah White, Ethel Taylor, Dessie Tuttle and Rosa Payton and brother, Lotha Richardson.
Visitation is 6 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Roller Crouch Chapel, Mtn. View.
Funeral service is 10 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Macedonia General Baptist Church in Drasco with Bro. Terry Motes, Bro. Billy Henderson and Bro. Charles Hardy officiating with interment in Friendship Cemetery at Ben.
Pallbearers are Darrell Richardson, Alvin Allcorn, Venton White, Keith Bufford, Michael Goins and Teddy Tuttle. Honorary pallbearers are Freddy White and Brant Richardson.
