Dean Wilburn Walls, age 89, of Searcy, Arkansas, died March 7, 2009. He was born October 12, 1919 in Searcy to Tom and Mary Poole Walls. He is survived by one daughter Carol Walls Baker of Sherwood; one sister Wordie Weaver of Little Rock; one sister-in-law Daisy Walls of Searcy; one niece Susie Weaver of Little Rock; three nephews Dorman Roach of Dundee, Mississippi, Mike Weaver of Mantua, New Jersey, and Glenn Smith of Russellville, Arkansas; along with a host of other family and friends. Other special survivors include his Cedaridge family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 63 years Ernestine Walls; two brothers Hubert Walls and Vernon Walls; and one sister Lovie Roach. He was a retired building contractor in Searcy who took great pride in his work. He was a member of the Westside Church of Christ and a member of the church's "Golden Years" group. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his home and lawn, church activities, and loved visiting people, especially his church and neighborhood families. Special thanks to his doctors, nurses, and the medical staff at White County Medical Center for making his last days as comfortable as possible and to his neighborhood family, whose friendship he treasured.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with interment following at Gum Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2009 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.

Mr. Walls was a wonderful person and will certainly will be missed by family and friends. Sorry that we could not be there in person, but our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Good job with the video..I loved the earthy parts...all the growing things. It anchored the video around his lifetime love of growing and gardening.
You had to put so much together so fast...great job! It's great to have this on- line for everybody that didn't get to pay respects in person.
