of Little Rock, AR
September 21, 1924 - February 16, 2009
Virginia Lee Farquharson Myrick Geer took the Lord's hand Monday morning, February 16, 2009 and went to her heavenly home. Growing up in Bellefonte and Harrison, Arkansas, her family ran a peach orchard and grape vineyard business. Later her family moved to Little Rock where her father owned a water business on Spring Street. She attended Central High School and became actively involved in church and community interests. Virginia was devout in her faith and enthusiastically studied the Bible. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist, First Nazarene, Second Baptist, and First Baptist Churches of Little Rock and taught Sunday School consistently for over 40 years. Engaging and witty, she lit up a room with her charm, personality, and never-wavering smile. Though family and friends are grieving and will miss her greatly, we know that she is at peace...and still smiling.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred G. Myrick, Jr., her second husband, J. W. Geer, and her brother, Theodore Farquharson.
She is survived by her daughters, Marian Pepper of Cabot, Rebecca Doan of Little Rock, Annette Myrick and her husband James True of Haifa, Israel; her son Fred Myrick of Nashville, Tennessee; her brother, Bruton Farquharson of Little Rock; her sister, Marian Sugden of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Tiffany Bemis and husband Larry, Allison Hogue and husband Jared, Cathy Doan, Chad Pepper, Hayden Myrick; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m, Friday, February 20, 2009 at Little Rock's First Baptist Church, 62 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m., Thursday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501)224-8300.

Marian, Becky, and Annette,
Our prayers are with you during this time of sorrow. I remember your mom at LR First. She was a very wonderful lady and a joy to be around. May God bring you comfort and joy in knowing the great influence your mom had on my life as well as many others.

Virginia and I met 40+ years ago at Bible Study Fellowship and what a blesing she has been to my life. Friends like you can PLAY together and then PRAY together and what a friend she has been. Marian, I love you and am grateful for the years we cried and laughed together. For you and your family, please count me among your many prayer warriors. Blessings. Vern
