Avon Harold Vaughn, 81, Mountain View entered into rest on July 10, 2008 at Batesville, Arkansas.
Avon was born July 6, 1927 in Greene County, Arkansas to Ernie Ray and Vada Ethel (Richardson) Vaughn.
He was a member of the Highway 5 Church of Christ and was a truck driver. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Middlebrook Vaughn; three daughters, Rhonda Penley and husband Clifford and Renee Morrison and husband Eddie all of Plato, Missouri and Stephanie Weber and husband Albert of Lynchburg, Missouri; seven grandchildren; Daniel Weber, Brandie Weber, Chelsea Weber, Craig Penley, Erin Penley, Chastity Towe and Steven Morrison; and one great-grandson, Andrew Penley; stepchildren, C.D. Neldon of Cabot, Joan Murphy of Newport and Pamela Neldon of Russellville and five step grandchildren, two brothers, Raymond and Leonard Vaughn of Paragould and many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Vada Vaughn; a brother, Everett Vaughn and four sisters, Rowena Hyde, Bernice Hester, Jewell Morton and Sue McCullar.
Visitation is 2 - 4 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Roller Crouch Chapel, Mtn. View.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2008 at Heath Funeral Home, Paragould, Arkansas with Bro. Albert Weber, Bro. Loyd Barry and Bro. Ed Yates officiating and interment in Browns Chapel Cemetery near Paragould, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Ernie Vaughn, James Vaughn, Daniel Vaughn, Keith Staggs, Edwin Morton and Chester Morton. Honorary pallbearers are Chad McCullar, Jessy Vaughn, Brad Vaughn, Dairl Hyde, Gene McCullar, Bobby Morton, Josh Whitaker, Garrett Chappel, Matthew Chappel, brad Hyde, Bart Hyde, Rickey Vaughn, Brent McCullar and Greg McCullar.
