Ardath Arlene (Allen) Cantrell, 84, Benton, was born September 21, 1923 at Pipestone, MN and completed her journey home December 17, 2007.

She is survived by three sons, Marlin Cantrell and wife June of Buffalo, TX, Morris Cantrell and wife Tamara of Malvern, and Larry Cantrell of Benton; a daughter, Carolyn Gaines of Magnolia, AR; three brothers, Donald Allen and wife Leota of Staples, MN, Franklin Allen and wife Shirley of Marshall, MN, and Marvin Allen and wife Sylvia of Mankato, MN; a sister, Irma Powley of Dent, MN, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Mom Cantrell is also survived by two special friends she claimed as son and daughter, Bro. Wayne Smith and wife Mary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cantrell; her parents, Ray Merrick Willard Allen and Edna Mae (Barton) Allen of MN; a sister, Mary Larson of Brookings, SD, and three brothers, Eugene Allen, Ralph Allen, and John Allen all of MN.

"Granny" Cantrell was a member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Benton and was retired from the Timex Corporation in Little Rock.
Graveside services and interment are to be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 in the Garden of Devotion, Pinecrest Cemetery, Alexander, AR with Bro. Scotty Nalley officiating and special music by Bro. Wayne and Mary Smith. Funeral arrangements are by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047).. The body may be viewed during open visitation beginning at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19th.

The family would like to thank every one who offered prayers, called, came by, brought food, sent cards, or offered help and support during our Mother's illness. Mom loved you all. Special thanks go out to Saline Memorial Hospice, Dr. David Stewart, Dr. Daniel Cartaya, and the nurses and staff on the fifth floor at Saline Memorial Hospital.

To the family of maw cantrell, I knew her thru Mary and wayne Smith. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. I expectually want to say to larry how much i admire how you took care of your mama all these years, your a special person, and I know in heaven there's something special for you there. Your mama will be missed ,but never forgotten.
