of West Memphis, AR August 31, 1920 - August 18, 2006 Walter L. Meals Jr. 85, of Hughes, AR passed away August 18, 2006 at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis. Mr. Meals was a member of Hughes First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Secretary, a WWII Army Veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.He is preceded in death by his wife,Cleo Mae Meals and survived by his daughter, Karen Stackhouse of Hughes, AR; a son, Walter L. Meals III of Colt, AR; a brother, Marvin Sonny Meals of Indiana; three grandchildren, J.J. Minenna of Benton, AR; Laura Pittman and Timothy Stackhouse, both of Hughes, AR and four great grandchildren, Carmen Louise Minenna of Benton;AR Ashton Pittman of Jonesboro;AR Colton Pittman and Connor Stackhouse both of Hughes, AR. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hughes Sanctuary Fund
