Herbert Walker Crain

of Jonesboro, AR

March 19, 1918 - March 7, 2006

Herbert Walker Crain, 87, of Brookland, died Tuesday, March 07, at St. Bernards.

 

Born in Trumann to Martin and Maggie Crain, he lived in Brookland most of his life. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.  He served in the U.S. Army Air Force, 195 Bomb Group for four years.

                      

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Yvonne Barnett Crain of the home, two sons, Hubert Crain of Laurel, MS and Jim Crain of Crockett Mills, TN, four daughters, Yvette Yochum of Memphis, TN; Judy Horn and Patty Soward of Jonesboro; and Penny Burrow of Brookland; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and three siblings, Charles Crain, Bill Crain and Irene Davies.

 

Pallbearers: Gary Yochum, Robert Horn, Allen Burrow, Brian Horn, Brandon Horn and Tim Burrow.

 

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with John Soward officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

              

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
