Bobby Johnson Lowe

Bobby Johnson Lowe, age 78, of Harrison, a retired businessman, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, April 2, 2014. He was born November 19, 1935, in Marydale, Mississippi, the son of Charles Albin Lowe and Earlean (Johnson) Lowe of Kosciusko, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; two brothers, Billy Lowe and Bruce Lowe of Texas City, Texas; and a brother-in-law, Grady Plunkett, of Kosciusko.

Bobby was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Harrison, Arkansas. He worked for American Public Life Insurance Company and later opened Lowe Monument Company. He was an avid horseman showing horses in shows and as a contestant in cutting events around the country. In October of 1970, he moved to Alpena, Arkansas and purchased Bailey Monuments. Later he purchased The Harrison and Mountain Home Monument Companies. During his life he owned a clothing store, worked with Judy’s Insulation, and sold his prized possessions - Lowe’s Super Touch Graphite Rods. He retired from North Arkansas Transportation Services in 2009. During all these years he met many people and cherished the memories of their friendships.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Eugenia (Jean) Lowe; a daughter, Cindy Langston & husband Tom of Harrison, and their children, Nicholas & wife Amber of Oklahoma City and Rebekah and Maggie of Fayetteville ; a son, Mike Lowe & wife Cindy and their children, Savannah and Stuart of Conway, Arkansas; a son, Steve Lowe & wife Misty and their children, Ainsley and Isla of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Frances Plunkett; a niece, Lisa Smith; a great-niece, Brittany Pee & husband Craig and great- nephew Jaxon; and a brother, Richard Lowe and nephews Grant and Andrew Lowe all of Kosciusko, Mississippi. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.



A memorial service was April 4, 2014, with a visitation to follow, both at First Baptist Church of Harrison, under the direction of Roller-Christeson. Reverends Robert Shaddox and Royce Sweatman officiated.

Honorary pallbearers were Ron Schoborg, Dean Wilburn, James Morris, Harlan Pollock, Tad Andreson, Wes Hudson, Joey Paul, Adult for Men Sunday School Class, Bob Creamer, Jim Sprott, Bob Wilson, Cocky Barrett, Bud Grisham, Billy Atwood, Bobby Atwood , Steve McKinney, Jess Watkins, Jack Tennyson, Gene Curtis, Don West, Bill Blanchard, Charlie Maybee, Ben Martin, Wayne Littleton, Fred Bell, Robert Burdine, Clif Morris, Wayne Reese and Carl Beard.
