Billy D. Marlin, 72, of Batesville died Friday, February 28, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Evening Shade on June 12, 1941 to Jim and Rothie “Pearl” (Duncan) Marlin.
He was a drywall contractor and member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. Billy enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carolyn “Sue” (Moore) Marlin of the home; a son, Shannon Marlin and his wife, Melissa of Batesville; grandchildren, Emalee Marlin and Isaac Marlin; one brother; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Chester Bomer, Ray Carter, Randy Coldwell, Todd Bolin, Larry Crafton, Carrol Mohlke, Tom Tucker, and John Clements. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Garrett Sanford and Arkansas Hospice employees.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Ben. Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Garden under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
