John T. Gentry
of Griffithville, AR
May 14, 1925 - February 16, 2014 John T. Gentry, 88, of Griffithville, went to be with his Lord Sunday, February 16, 2014. He was born on Thursday, May 14, 1925 in Higginson, Arkansas to the late Cecil and Anna Heathscott Gentry.
Mr. Gentry was a farmer, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Mote Gentry; a son, Haskell Gentry; a sister Dorothy Young; a brother, Leon Gentry; and a grandson, Joseph Casteneda.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Judy Hulsey of Searcy, Ronda Casteneda (Gabriel) of Big Springs, Texas and Tammie Rutherford of Searcy; sons, John Gentry of Hollywood, Florida and Roger Gentry (Mary) of Batesville; brother, Paul Gentry of Searcy; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, 2014, 6:00-8:00pm at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home (501)268-3546. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Joe Clement and Waylon Heathscott officiating. Interment will follow in the Kensett Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Ausbrooks, Roger Ausbrooks, James Hulsey, Tom Hulsey, Michael Gentry, Tim Gentry, Josh Light, Jason Castenada, Lane Ausbrooks, Stetson Ausbrooks, Austin Ausbrooks and Roger Wayne Ausbrooks.
