Tim D. Harmon, 49, of Cushman, died Friday, February 08, 2013 in Batesville. He was born in Batesville on November 1, 1963 to Max Dale Harmon and Virginia Mildred (Vickers) Harmon. He graduated from Cushman High School in 1982 and worked as a forklift operator for ConAgra for 19 years. He also operated Steam-Pro Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning for 20 years and was certified through IICRC in cleaning and restoration. He enjoyed fishing at Lock 3 and hunting. He collected knives and was an avid wood carver. He also enjoyed grilling and cooking, especially baking homemade cinnamon rolls and biscuits, taught by the “Master Chef” –his Dad. He had a big heart, a great sense of humor, and loved a good joke. Playing Santa Claus at Christmas time was one of his favorite things to do. His wife was his best friend and they would have been married 25 years this April. He enjoyed family gatherings and his church family. He was a member of the North Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Brashers Harmon of the home; son Tyler D. Harmon of Washington, DC; daughter Autumn Harmon Jones and her husband Jason of Batesville; his father Max D. Harmon of Batesville, two brothers: Scott Harmon and his wife Lisa of Cushman; Bryan Harmon and his wife Jennifer of Cushman; one step-sister Brittney Harmon of Batesville; two grandchildren: Ian Jones and Eli Jones; three nieces and nephews: Chelsea Harmon, J.B. Brashers and Jodi Beth Brashers; and several cousins and many many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Vickers Harmon; a close brother-in-law Eric Brashers and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the North Heights Church of Christ with Dr. Ed Myers and Larry Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Campground Cemetery in Bethesda under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Pallbearers will be Marty Rollins, Timmy Low, Billy Zumwalt, Mike Blue, Tim Brown, Allen Keller, Jerry White and Colin Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Jones, Allen Byler, Wendall Tucker, Dr. Ron Bates, Dr. Jay Jeffery, Dr. Raman Desikan, Danny Walker, David Osborn, and Dr. Jason Paxton. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at North Heights Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to the Independence County Humane Society, PO Box 3477, Batesville, AR 72503 and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.
