James H. Bellinger

James H. Bellinger 92, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Ozark Health Nuring Center Clinton, Arkansas. He was born December 10, 1917 at Cash, Arkansas to the late Thomas Walter and Victoria Frances (Foster) Bellinger.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Florence Ramey, and all of his siblings John, Arthur, Bill, Leslie, Coleman, Freeman, Willard, Lily, Thelma and Bertha.

He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Jim joined the CCC when he was 18 and worked on a forestry project in Idaho for three years before returning to Arkansas to marry Florence. The Family was relocated to Coquille. Oregon in 1942 to work on a dairy farm as part of the war effort, then worked in sawmills and returned to Arkansas for good in 1953. Jim was the ultimate outdoorsman, he loved farming, cutting timber, working with cattle, and fishing. When he retired from farming he worked another 20 years for the City of Clinton to retire again at age 89. His great love during that time was the Clinton City Park, and he enjoyed doing volunteer work in addition to his regular duties.

He is survived by three sons: James Jr. and Velma of Bauxite; Ray and Roseann of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Jerald and Mary of Bryant; two daughters: Mary and Jim Walls of Eglantine,: and Alma Wallace of Clinton; daughter in law Betty Bellinger of Mayflower; eleven grandchildren, Janis Travis, Robin Butler, Kevin Bellinger, Leslie McClendon, Wesley Wallace, Sheila Rogers, Paula Sowell, Brandon, Derek, Kyle and Austin Bellinger, thirteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Leslie McClendon, Kevin Bellinger, Brandon Bellinger, Derek Bellinger, Kyle Bellinger, and Austin Bellinger.

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00pm Sunday, August 15, 2010 and Funeral Service will be 10:00am Monday, August 16, 2010 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel Clinton, Arkansas with Pastor Gary Kirkendoll officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.
