Amy E. Engle, 92, of Griggsville, Illinois died at 11:52 P.M. on April 16, 2008 in the Emergency Room at Illini Community Hospital, Pittsfield, Illinois. She was born in Okema, Oklahoma on May 25, 1915, the daughter of Silas and Dolly Pogue Tinkle. She married L. C. “Leonard” Engle in Mt. View, Arkansas and he preceded her in death.

Amy was a homemaker, a Nurse’s Aid at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, Illinois, and worked at Lemon’s IGA in Pittsfield, Illinois. She had also operated a grocery and gas station in Mt. View, Arkansas. She enjoyed babysitting for local families, needlework and crafts, flower gardening, and cooking for family and friends. She was the published author of “From Covered Wagons to Jet Planes."

Survivors include two sons: Jerry (Doris) Engle and John Engle of Mt. View, Arkansas; a daughter: Mrs. Mary Little of Griggsville, Illinois, six grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son Peter Engle, a brother Roscoe P. Tinkle, and three sisters: Agnes, Ola, and Gladys.

Visitation was 1 - 3 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Roller Crouch Chapel, Mtn. View.

Funeral services was 3 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Roller Crouch Chapel, Mt. View, Arkansas with Bro. David Campbell and Bro. Jerry Hopper offciating and interment in Levisy Flat Cemetery in Mt. View, AR.

Pallbearers were Danny Tinkle, Tim Tinkle, Mike Tinkle, Andy Tinkle, Trey Tinkle and Michael Storey. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Thatcher, Jerry Storey, Tony Tinkle, R.P. Tinkle, David Hopper and Jim Tinkle.
