Dear Family,

I am saddened to learn of the recent passing of your dear mother, Marian. We graduated from Batesville High School together. She was a dear, dear friend and it was a honor to call Marian and John friends for so many, many years. And all the memories we shared with all of our children growing up together in Batesville. Sending my love and prayers to each of you.

Sincerely, Robert Ford, Jr and Family (Ronald Ford and Becky Ford Doster)

Marian not only volunteered at Old Independence Regional Museum some years ago, but also provided valuable information about the Masonic Home and photos. She was a great source of historical stories. And, I also loved her at First Baptist Church. She was always ready to help with food. Even in her very late years, with her sight mostly gone, she would be sweating her drive and walk at times when I drove by.

She was a great lady. Our own neighborhood taxi. All of us including James and Bill would load up and she would ferry us off to baseball games, to deliver the Guard, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She even loaded up that Suburban once and hauled us all to hear the Chaplain of Bourbon Street, Bob Harrington. The Milum’s were great neighbors. A very large part of my childhood memories. May the Father of all mercies and the God of all comfort, comfort you all.
