Never see this before... but wanted to say I loved being a neighbor & friend to Mr. Perkey. He was so wonderful to me. He made me feel safe in a town I had never been to before while on a work assignment. Immediately introduced himself & invited me church in our very first conversation. He wanted to know if I knew Jesus. He Introduced me to his wife Bertha who took evening walks with me. They invited me over to sit & visit with them. He was like a pop to me. Mine had passed years prior. Bertha made me Blueberry Pancakes on my last day in Batesville. I literally cried as I drove off, because I new I’d never see them again. Mr. Perkey was truly a gentle soul, and wanted me to try hush puppies & po’boys. I will miss you, and I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IN PARADISE!

I will always remember Von as one of most loving, kind and genuine Christian men I have ever known. He always had a smile on his face, and I loved speaking with him when I was home. He will he dearly missed, but we will see each other again. I will keep the family in my prayers during this time.
Dear Family,
I am saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend, Von. Our families shared many special memories down through the years at Calvary Baptist Church. Each of you are in my thoughts and prayers and you grieve the loss of your loved one. Von was a good man.

Von was a great guy and always smiling. So sorry for your loss.
Uncle Von was the brother of our Mom’s I knew the best. He was a kind and gentle man with remarkable patience. I say that because he tried to teach me how to replace the brake shoes on my car once when was 16. When the mold was made for uncles I think God used him as the model.
Rest In Peace
You will always have a special place in my heart and I will miss you
🙏🙏🙏🙏
We just wanted you to know how sorry we are to hear of Von's passing. He and Bertha were
wonderful neighbors over the years on College ST. . He was a wonderful man and certainly will
be missed by many friends!
Uncle Von,
There are no words to express how much you mean to me. You sat with me during the entire visitation when my Dad passed which lasted well into the night. You and Aunt June also took great care of my mom and checked on her often. You gave Trish her first ever bite of ice cream. You are now celebrating a beautiful homecoming in heaven but know you will be missed greatly by this niece and her family.
Worked with Von as a Volunteer at WRMC. Always had some good conversations about the world and life!!!
