Josephine Tencleve of Scranton left this world on February 3, 2023 surrounded by her devoted and blessed family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, George Tencleve; her parents, Caiten and Elizabeth Kern and all of her siblings, Katie Kern, Angeline Schmitz, Frances Kern, John Kern and Matt Kern.

She is survived by her 12 children: Ron and wife, Charlotte of Subiaco, Jim and wife, Jan of Scranton, Ken and wife, Deb of Scranton, Phyllis Koerdt and husband, Jerry of Scranton, David and wife, Diane of Ozark, Alice Hughes of Scranton, Tim and wife, Sue of Scranton, Lois Duvall and husband, Jeff of Pottsville, Ellen Kirbo and husband, Jack of Ozark, Pam Siebenmorgen and husband, Dennis of Scranton and Bruce and Mike, both of Scranton.

Her legacy also include her pride and joy, 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She loved her family and the life she and her husband built which included farming dairy cattle and crop farming. She followed their kids in sports as well as the grandchildren. She taught her children to work, play and most importantly, pray. Her motto was ''work hard and pray harder'', but she also loved to have fun. She loved music and to dance and found humor in many things.

Pallbearers will be Chris Siebenmorgen, Eric Siebenmorgen, Nicholas Tencleve, Stephen Tencleve, Jarett Duvall and Bryce Tencleve. All of her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St. Anne's Society of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where she was a lifetime member and a member of the choir for 83 years.

So sorry for your family loss. Josephine was so much fun to be around. Love the things you mentioned in her obituary about work hard and pray harder. At celebration dances were where I saw her and George the most plus Dairy meetings. Such a BIG loss for the community.

I have loved and admired Josephine Tencleve for many years! She was truly an amazing lady! I feel like I saw her and George at every game my son and their grandson, Ryan, played for Subiaco Academy! She and George were loyal Trojan fans and Coach Tim Tencleve fans forever and a day! As a Subiaco Academy employee myself for twenty years, I had the opportunity to hug Josephine every time I saw her on campus volunteering to help with various mail outs etc. I loved and respected her SO much for so many reasons! My heart goes out to all of who were SO blessed to be a part of her family for so many years!
