Dorothy L. Burd, 94, a resident of Magazine, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 19, 1925, in Rosebud, Arkansas to the late Burnie and Lillie (Healy) Isaacs. Dorothy spent her working years first as a teacher after World War II and then for Alcoa. She was a member of the Reveille Primitive Baptist Church in Magazine. In her spare time Dorothy loved quilting.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Bill C. Burd and five siblings.

Survivors include two step-daughters, Candice Vanderpool of Liberty, Missouri and Sandra Burd of Mission, Kansas; a step-grandson, Patrick Vanderpool; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Burd of Los Angeles, California and Gahlia Isaacs of Magazine and fourteen nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2020, at the Evans Cemetery near Magazine with Elder James Isaacs and Elder Phillip Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
