Janelle Fowler Stage Walton of Mt. View, AR passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021. She was 98 years of age on August 1, 1923. She was preceded by husbands Frank M. Stage and Melvin D. Walton in death and her siblings, BF Fowler of Star City, AR and her twin sister, Vernelle Fowler Bitely of Grady, AR.

She is survived by her children Mary Beth Stage of Mt. View, AR, Ben and Julie Stage of Mer Rouge, LA., Steve and Jera Lynn Stage, and Pamela Annette Stage Booker all of N. Richland Hills, TX.; the seven grandchildren are Chris, Cassie, Kelly, Cara, David, Ginny, and Sam; great-grandchildren are Katie Rose, Kindle, Parker, and Merritt.

She is also survived by numerous family members throughout Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Indiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi including Bitelys- Linda, Angie, MH, and Fowlers- Sandra, Karen, John, Merwin, Marshall and their families.

Mother said, ''My greatest accomplishments are my 4 precious children and teaching the children at school.''

Janelle modeled the importance of bettering oneself by going back to college and gaining 70 hours above her master's degree in Home Economics, Counseling, and Special Education. She was recognized as a consummate educator. She was the pathfinder for the children in the family to live an enriched life through education. Thank you Mom for giving us a passion for cooking, family meals, homemaking, family celebrations, and making others feel welcome. With Dad you taught us that there was no darkness in God, only forgiveness, and grace. You became a world traveler with Melvin and were fond of telling stories of your travels. Mother, you will be sorely missed in the lives of those who knew you.

Graveside services for Janelle will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021, 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport, Louisiana with Rev. Mark Goins of First United Methodist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to St. Labre Indian School, PO Box 216, Ashland, MT. 59003-9989.
