of Mountain Home, AR
January 12, 1944 - July 9, 2022
Mr. Leland Anderson, 78, died on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Mountain Home, AR. He was born on January 12, 1944, in Waunakee, WI to Andrew and Dora Anderson.
Leland served in the U.S Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning, he went to work for the 3M corporation for over 30 years. He was usually forced to take his vacation time, and never had a sick day. He retired in 2005. He was a dedicated husband and father. When Leland was married to Laurita, they had 2 children together. Leland was very athletic and loved to compete in softball as an adult. This is probably why he never missed watching an MN Twins game. He was also a huge MN Vikings fan. Lee loved rock and roll music of many eras and styles. He was a man of integrity, he believed if you took wood from a community wood pile, you should cut more than you took so as not to be a burden on anyone else. He married Paula in 2006 and moved to Mountain Home AR in 2013. He enjoyed his new home, traveling with Paula, and going to see his family.
Leland is survived by his wife: Paula Anderson; daughter: Leah (Jeff) Magnuson; son: Kenneth (Holly) Anderson; one step-daughter: Erika Jackson; one step-son: Leland Riker; nine grandchildren: Cassie, Alex, and Gage Magnuson, Jonah, Flynn, Culley, and Willa Anderson, and Shelby and Tom Wick; two great-grandchildren: Theo and Skyla Magnuson; two step-grandchildren: Zoe and Jordan Jackson; brothers: Kenneth and Larry Anderson; sisters: Linda (Mike) Jacobson, Patty (Kevin) Raway, and Susie (Denny) Illa; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Andrew and Dora Anderson; step-father: Steve Seleski; first wife: Laurita Boeckman; brother: Donnie Anderson; and sister Pamm Stoltz.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Monday, July 18, 2022, with a private burial to follow. An additional memorial service will be held in Hastings MN at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Monday, July 25th. There will be a visitation at 3 pm, the service will begin at 4 pm and a luncheon and fellowship will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Ozarks or Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the care of Roller Funeral Home.
Leland always reminded me of my grandfather Harold (Andy) Anderson. He was kind and loving. I had stayed at his house in Hastings MN in 2008 & 2009 for a short while because I took a job there and no place to live him and Paula allowed me to stay with them without a second thought. I’m sorry for his family’s loss and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they are going through this. He will be missed dearly.
My sympathy to all
