August 18, 2021

Pamela Karen Schilling, age 77, of Mountain Home, passed away August 18, 2021 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Pamela was born in Chicago, Illinois to Paul Keith Shortz and Martha Lizbeth Bradway on June 23, 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Walter.

Pamela's life was a living example of John 13:34 -- ''Love one another, as I have loved you.'' She was a dedicated mother first and foremost, always claiming her children were her greatest treasure, and embracing every moment she shared with them. Pamela worked as a registered nurse for over four decades, providing care, support and compassionate service to countless weary souls. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and affectionately served many years as pianist for the children in the primary.

Pamela could often be found cheerfully singing showtunes, telling silly stories to her many children and grandchildren, or offering words of wisdom to those seeking guidance and direction. She was often described as ''the strongest woman I've ever met'' , because she wasn't afraid of anyone or anything, and always met her challenges head on.

Pamela is survived by nine children; Christopher Fry, Walter Schilling, Rhonda Stott, Shari Frost, Paul Fry, Pamela Peters, Deborah Chard, Jonathan Schilling and Mary Partridge; 28 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Graveside services will be held at Roller Funeral Home on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 3pm.

We were first cousins, but did not live one another, so I had limited contact with Pam. The thing I remember most about her was a beautifully expressed letter in equally beautiful penmanship asking if my mother had any pictures of her father. Eventually I located some and she was so happy to receive them. So family minded she was. I had always hoped that I could make it to Arkansas for an in person visit. That will have to now take place in the afterlife.

You will be missed. From the first time we spoke I knew I had known you from the beginning. Our lives had made so many turns the same. It was such a joy to know you. Each Sunday I would turn and see you playing songs for the children and Ii would have a feeling a peace come over me. I knew that your sweet spirit was helping the children come closer to Christ. I am such a lucky person to have spent time and loved you.
