Mr. Glendell Ray "Glen" Pillows of Jonesboro, departed for his heavenly home on December 18, 2022. He was born in Greene County, Arkansas on September 12, 1933 to Jim and May Pillows. Glen was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1955 and proudly served our country in Seoul, South Korea, until the end of his assignment in 1956. He met and married Thelma Coggins in 1957 and, after a short move to Rockford, Illinois, they made Jonesboro their home. Glen was a skilled welder and made it his career for nearly 50 years, retiring from Bilco.
He loved watching Cardinals baseball and westerns, calling Bingo, country music and spending time with family. Glen was known for his kind, gentle nature and will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew him.
He is now reunited with his wife of 59 years, (Thelma Pillows); their infant daughter, (Judy Kay Pillows); his parents; his sister, (Lavonda Snyder) and many others whom he greatly missed
Left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and April Pillows of Jonesboro and Tim and Sandra Pillows of Scotland, Arkansas; grandchildren, Staci Haddick, Cyndi Pillows-Redden, Hayden Pillows, Kuchera Anglin, Montana West, Cody West, Houston Anglin and Nathan Eddington; seven great-grandchildren; daughters-in-love, Margaret Easley and Leslie Pillows and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be 11 am Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Paul Richardson officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro.
I'm so sorry for your loss Rick and Tim and for all your family members. I remember Glenn as a kind sweet man. I know he will be happy back with your mom.
