Alice Jones Bowden, 94, of Little Rock, AR, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2022. Alice was born in Hope, Arkansas on August 2, 1927, the youngest of ten children to Elmer and Nobie Jones. She grew up in Hope and attended Hope High school where she was a bobcat cheerleader, graduating in 1945.

She met the love of her life, Buddy, in the eighth grade, and they married on August 15, 1947. Afterward, they honeymooned in Eureka Springs, AR. Buddy and Alice began their married life in Clarksville where he attended College of the Ozarks, School of Pharmacy. They moved to Shreveport, LA in 1950 and raised their two children. In 1970, the couple moved to Austin, TX, where Buddy owned two pharmacies. After retirement, they moved to Little Rock in 1989. They were members of Immanuel Baptist Church for 33 years.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Buddy in 2019; her parents, and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Mike Bowden and wife Sarah of Little Rock; her daughter Marilyn Bowden Johnson and husband Mickey of Plano, TX; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Known to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as ''Mimi''. Her grandchildren are Ivey Bowden Janacek and husband Jason; Kasey Johnson; Cullen Bowden and wife Katie; Robin Johnson Webb and husband Jeremy; Morgan Bowden Rush and husband Barry; and Walker Bowden and wife Lindsey. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with her whole heart. She will be remembered for how well she loved each member of her family and the life of selflessness she lived.

The family will have a private family graveside service on Tuesday, May 10th at 11:00. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.

We wish to thank all the caregivers at The Green House Cottages of Poplar Grove and Kindred Hospice.
