Sam was one of the good ones — kind, talented, dependable, and considerate — and it was an honor to work with him and get to know him over the years. Sending your family prayers for peace and comfort in the days ahead.
It brought tears to my eyes to see this on Facebook today. I knew Sam when he attended Cross Road road Baptist as a child. Rest in peace sweet boy.
I am so sad to hear of Sam's passing. I knew Sam as a young man and he was always so kind. I send my prayers to all his friends and family but most of all his wife and girls.
I literally just found out about Sam, and it's truly heartbreaking. I knew him for about four years while at the ADG, and he was the same nice, friendly and genuine guy on a day-to-day basis. That can be a rarity nowadays, but Sam was truly that kind of a person. My prayers and condolences are certainly with the family. Rest in love my friend!
Spent time on The Herald at Arkansas State with Sam, keeping in touch here and there over the years. Great guy. Loved his family. Will truly be missed.
Alyssa,
You and your girls, along with the entire family, will be in our prayers at Bryant School District. We are extremely saddened to hear of your loss. Please know I, along with all of the State's School Based Health Center Coordinators, will help in any way.
Angie
Prayers for your family.
I worked with Sam at the Herald at A-State. He was always such a genuinely nice guy. I have enjoyed watching him through social media since college and seeing the joy that being a husband and father brought him. I’m shocked and saddened he is gone so soon. I know he will be missed by so many. Many prayers for his wife, kids, dad, and friends.
My heart is breaking for Alyssa and the girls to lose Sam so young. Sam has been a special part of our family and his calls will be missed.
I’m sure Chris and Dad(Leroy) were waiting to greet him in Heaven.
Sending prayers for strength during this time and the days to come.

Sam, This is so surreal. You and I talked almost every day, mostly by text but I consider you to be one of my closest friends in this world. You are my tag-team partner. I cannot believe you are gone. I've told Jacqueline so much about you. She knows you were a Godly man and that we will see you again one day.
Much love to your family, especially Alyssa and the girls. We are praying so hard for you all.
