Dorajean Idleman

of Vilonia, AR

September 13, 1947 - November 21, 2021

Dorajean (Scales) Idleman, age 74, of Vilonia, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 21, 2021. She was born on September 13, 1947 in Danville, Illinois and raised by her loving parents, Harry and Dora Robertson in West Plains, Missouri.

Dorajean is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Lee Idleman; children, Charles Lee Idleman, II (Stacy) and Doralee Chandler (Jeff); granddaughters, Mikaela Bailey, Elizabeth Chandler, Kaitlyn Chandler, Alyssa Chandler; one great-grandson Mason Bailey, and her St. Joseph Catholic Church family and friends.

Dorajean grew up in West Plains, Missouri where she attended high school before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas to complete her degree in nursing. She had a passion for helping and serving others. Dorajean's passion to help others was shared by her passion for helping animals. It was not uncommon for her to stop on the side of the road to rescue an abandoned animal; therefore, it was not surprising that after serving her community as a nurse for more than twenty years, she retired to assist in the founding of Circle I Feed in Vilonia to continue her passion for animals.

Dorajean's faith and family were always of highest importance. She served in the RCIA program at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway, welcoming many new Catholics to the church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Despite the many other things going on in her life, she was most fulfilled watching her granddaughters grow and develop into young ladies. She was always there to provide advice, support them and encourage them to be strong in their Catholic faith.

A Rosary will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway, Arkansas at 10:00am, on Friday, November 26, 2021, followed by the visitation at 10:30am, and a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am.

Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Doralee, I am so very sorry. I pray that God hugs you tightly with His love so you can be held up in strength for your family. I’ve been praying for your mom and you as I’ve gone through this with my own mom. My heart breaks for you and your family. Know that I am always here for you and I know your mom is shining brightly in God’s presence in heaven. May the peace of the Lord be with you always.

Our sincere sympathy to the Idleman family. Got to know Dorajean and Charles in a Bible study several years ago. Very nice couple. Very thoughtful. Dorajean earned the eternal repose she is now experiencing. Thank you, Lord, for her life. May her example live on, and may Charles and the family be comforted by her beautiful memories.

My family and I will be praying for you and your family. She is one person that will always be remembered in my life. She really made an impression on me in a early age. And I feel very blessed to have had that.
