Shannyn Skinner, 16, died Saturday, January 21, 2023 in Little Rock. She was born September 8, 2006 in Russellville to Bradley Ray and Michelle Lea (Sanders) Skinner. Shannyn was a light to all who knew her; always willing to lend a helping hand to those around and always uplifting to everyone with her kind spirit. Shannyn could always be seen laughing and smiling and was a friend to all. She was an active participant in the Lamar Special Olympics and pageants. She was fond of singing, dancing and spending time with her siblings. Shannyn had also been learning to play guitar.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bradley Skinner.
Shannyn is survived by her mother, Michelle Skinner of Durant, Oklahoma; her mother and father, Evetta and Keith Dyess of Coal Hill; siblings, Haylie (Jordan) Hilton of Hartman, Colton Thomas of Clarksville, Neal Hicks of Coal Hill, Neveah and Bradley Skinner of the home and Keiden and Raylea Dyess of Coal Hill; grandparents, Carolyn Phillips of Coal Hill, Betty and Coy Hicks of Lamar and Danny, Vanessa Hawkins of Ozark and several other family and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Roller-Cox, followed by burial at Mt. View Cemetery in Ozark. Pastor Larry Jones will officiate. Zackry Hutchinson, Colton Thomas, Neal Hicks, Neal Porter, John Wellesley, Jesse Porter, Keith Dyess, Billy Hutchinson, Brett Fromdahl and Josh Parnell will serve as bearers. Honorary bearers are Bradley Gauge, Nevaeh Skinner, Abigayle Davis, Hallie Fromdahl, Christina Fromdahl, Trapper Hutchinson and Isabella Fromdahl.
