March 15, 1936 - December 18, 2022

Doris Ann Pruitt, 86, of Russellville, died Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was born March 15, 1936 in Little Rock to Herman D. Sr. and Rosalee Etta (Davis) Voegele. After graduation in May 1953, Doris went to work at Arkansas Bank & Trust in Hot Springs. She was married to Britton Pruitt on August 15, 1955, just as Britton was completing his Army basic training. Britton was first stationed in Arlington, Virginia, then Fort Palk, Louisiana and finally Fort Hood, Texas, where Doris joined him in early 1956. Doris and Britton's first child, Theresa, was born. Doris and the baby moved back to her parent's house in September, and she resumed her employment at the bank until her husband was discharged June 6, 1958. At that time, the construction of their new home, located across from Doris' childhood home, was nearly completed. In 1962, her husband surrendered to full-time ministry and their second daughter, Judith (a named picked by her sister, Theresa) was born.. Britton attended Ouachita Baptist from 1964-1968 and Doris then returned to work until 1972, at which time the family moved to Russellville. Doris then began her career in eye care. By 1985 she was managing a small optical shop in the city mall. Doris was deeply devoted to her family. She was also fond of music and enjoyed playing the piano.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Britton J. Pruitt; one sister, Mary Voegele Boucher and one brother, John E. Voegele.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Theresa Holland and husband, Phillip and Judi Berkau and husband, Jim; six grandchildren, Clifford Reinhardt and wife, Latisha, Jason Reinhardt, Leeanne Holland and husband, Mikey Davis, Grace Bennett and husband, Jordan, Isaac Berkau and Audrey Berkau; seven great-grandchildren, Makya, Jaeda, Alana, Zaiden, Zahara, Scarlett, and Michael; one brother, Herman Dexter Voegele Jr. and wife, Bernice; one brother-in-law, Gene Boucher; one sister-in-law, Mae Voegele and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A family visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church in Russellville. A committal service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29th at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Bro. Jonathan Whitlock will officiate. Tom Voegele, Isaac Berkau, Mikey Davis, Greg Collins, Chris Kennedy and Rick Hart will serve as bearers.
