Brandon Kevin Gretz

of Benton, AR

April 19, 1990 - January 25, 2023

Brandon Kevin Gretz, 32, of Benton, Arkansas passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 in Benton.

Brandon was born on April 19, 1990 in Little Rock to Kevin and Ann Gretz.

Brandon graduated from Benton High School in 2008. He went on to earn an Associate Degree in applied science, diesel and heavy equipment from Oklahoma State University at Okmulgee.

For the next ten years Brandon worked in many different facets of the heavy equipment industry. He specialized in hydraulics, electrical and natural gas processing.

These skills allowed Brandon to achieve his dream of opening his own company, BG Diesel, in 2020. His business served a wide range of clients in the Arkansas construction industry and was still expanding at the time of his passing.

Brandon enjoyed spending time with his family and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. He particularly loved playing and completing projects with his six nephews, who cherished every minute with their "Unc Unc". He was also an active supporter of his nephew's school and sports programs.

Brandon is survived by his parents, Kevin and Ann of Benton; his sisters, Dayna Christian (Gordon) of Benton and Tamara Pudinas (Kyle) of Benton; his grandmothers, Eileen Gretz of Manitowoc, Wisconsin and Janet Brockhoff of Manitowoc, Wisconsin and his six nephews, Logan, Charlie and Austin Pudinas and Barrett, Mitchell and Carter Christian all of Benton. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Kenlyn and Lynn Gretz (God Father), Kim and Deb Gretz, Kurt and Linda Gretz, Kelly and Lorie Gretz of Wisconsin, Keith and Robin Gretz of Michigan, Cheryl Benthien (God Mother), Tom and Janelle Ray and Mike Brockhoff of Wisconsin, as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Brandon was preceded in death by his uncle, Dean Benthien of Mishicot, Wisconsin and his grandfathers, Kenneth Gretz of Two Creeks, Wisconsin and Melvin Brockhoff of Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be held at Roller Ballard Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 6-8pm with a Rosary being held prior at 5:30pm. Interment will be on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1PM at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.

Brandon truly was a bright light in a world full of darkness! I have great memories with him in Pennsylvania. He always could make me laugh, he had some goofy phrases that we would all use. One that I remember is calling cows “moo bosses” and to this day when I go past a cow pasture that’s what I call them and think of him! Praying that the Lord is with you today and many days to come.

Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth shakes
And the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;
Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah

I was so saddened to hear of Brandon passing, he was great to be around. I remember when I saw him one day it was -22° in PA and he said "I dont know how or why you people live here" I laughed with him many times. He came over to spend the day with us, it was Mothers Day, and he helped Tyler place a banner on his truck I bought for Ty. We had dinner, ate ice cream cake, and played driveway volleyball. I think he had a real nice time that day, being away from home and all. I could tell his family meant so much to him, and my heart breaks for youns. Rest in Peace Brandon, I will never forget you. I pray for God to comfort everyone that knew you.

I have the visual of Brandon as a young, blonde, curly-headed, big eyed boy. Always running and playing in his big sisters shadows. Mom, Ann, carpooling kids to events and seeing to it all were happy. God's timing is not Earthly. He will be missed here.

I pray for a comfort and peace that only Jesus can supply at this time for parents, sisters, nephews and any family remaining. Much love, Ms. Andrea

Gretz Family,
Brandon was truly a unique individual. I think that’s why him and I became such close friends when he moved to PA. Brandon was my first true roommate, we had many great stories from those times. I think one of my favorite was when he told me he was allergic to chicken and would break out into hives, he said he hadn’t ate chicken in years. One night I force fed it to him to see if he grew out of the allergic reaction…turns out he grew out of it lol…we didn’t eat anything but chicken for weeks.. chicken wings, chicken tacos, chicken nachos, chicken salads.
Brandon will truly be missed by all. His love and caring for others spread cheer and happiness to all.

I do not have to tell you all how great a person Brandon was. His personality was contagious. I am so blessed to have met him when I did and have so many years with him as my best friend. It is very hard making friends as an adult, but we had so much in common and could talk for hours at a time, it was wonderful. I will cherish all of my memories with him and hope the good memories you all have with him will help ease this painful loss. -Love Ashley Valentine
