Bernice Lucille Burgess of Greenbrier went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 18, 2012 at the age of 98. She was born November 20, 1913 in Faulkner County. A daughter of W. M. ''Buck'' and Bessie Shaw Langston. She was a lifetime member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Shady Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Austin Robert Burgess; a son, Gene Burgess; and a daughter Ramona Rogers; two brothers, Roy and Charlie Langston; and sisters, Minter Dickens, Mary Herring, Ida Mae Wofford, Zora Spear and Audra Hamm.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Jack (Pat) Burgess of Wooster, Frank (Betty) Burgess of Conway and Tom Burgess of Conway; a sister, Vanda Tamporello of New Orleans; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her very special friends Merle Harrington and the Beauty Belles; a special niece Nancy Maulden; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 6:00-8:00pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway (501)327-7727. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Jamison and Bro. Freddy Mark Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Burgess, Jeff Burgess, Steve Burgess, David Burgess, Jeremy Burgess and John Burford. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Burgess, Justin Burgess, Landon Belote, Austin Porter and Brady Butler.
Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 506 Hwy 225 West, Greenbrier, AR 72058.

May God surround you all with the Holy Spirit of comfort! She was a sweet Christian lady! I had the privalege of meeting her when I was young. Sherman and Floy Hill would take us to Mr. Austin's and Bernice's home after church on Sunday night and we would have snacks, sing around the piano while Sam Hill, Sherman and a few others would all use their talents for Jesus. What precios memories for me to have been able to share that! That family truly blessed us and continues to bless us!!! May God continue to surround you all with comfort! Love you all! We will continue to lift you up in our prayers!
