Helen Sue Hensley

of Yellville, AR

September 29, 1945 - March 13, 2026

Helen Sue Hensley, age 80, of Yellville, Arkansas, passed away Friday evening, March 13, 2026, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Helen was born September 29, 1945, in Yellville, Arkansas, to Clarence Richardson and Mary (Cheek) Richardson. She lived her entire life in the Yellville area and graduated from Yellville Summit High School with the Class of 1963.

Helen was a devoted caregiver throughout her life. She lovingly cared for her parents and siblings and was known by many for her generous heart and willingness to help anyone in need. She worked as a cook in dietary departments at the local hospital and nursing homes and also volunteered at the local thrift shop.

Helen loved being outdoors. If the weather was nice, she could often be found outside tending her yard or mowing the lawn. Friends and family often joked that her John Deere mower was running even when it didn't have to be. She had a true green thumb and took great pride in keeping her yard beautiful.

Helen was a believer in Yeshua and lived her life guided by faith, kindness, and service to others.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Carson and David Carson; nieces Renee Parton and Brenda Lockheart; nephews Randy Zeigler and Rick Zeigler; along with many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Franklin Hensley; sisters Geneva Tabor, Joy Adams, Betty Wood, and Terry Baker; brother Floyd Richardson; one infant sister; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel, with funeral services following at 12:00 noon.

Burial will follow at Davidson Cemetery in Harmon, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.

Services are in the care of Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville, Arkansas.
