Iola Nunley Blake, age 88 of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 at her son's home in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was born in Bradley, Arkansas on January 10th, 1938 to Lindsey Nunley and Annie Green Nunley.
Iola was woman with a strong Christian faith in her Lord and Savior. She worked and lived to lead her children to Christ. She spent her working years as a caregiver and aide. She worked in housekeeping and janitorial also. She worked hard to provide for her children. Her strong work ethic will be part of her legacy left to her children. Iola was an early riser and began her day the minute her feet hit the floor. She was always active and busy. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. She raised her own chickens and canned the produce from her garden. She was lovingly nicknamed the ''Rescue Ranger'', because she was always coming to the rescue of her children. She was a wonderful mother who put her children's needs before her own. Her strong presence will be greatly missed by those close to her.
Survivors include her children, Elgene Blake of Bradley, Bill Blake of North Little Rock, Terry James Blake of Jacksonville, Doris Greer (Norris) of Cabot, Ilean Blake of Leslie and Gwen Blake, also of Leslie; grandchildren, Manasseh Smith (Jonathan), Nneka Greer, Emeke Greer, Norris Greer Jr., Nathan Greer, Nehemiah Greer, Noah Greer, Phoebe Greer, Shadia Greer, Miriam Greer, Deborah Greer, Rajira Greer, Nissi Greer and Niles Greer; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Hattie Harris of Ohio, Edna Burney of Louisiana and Faye Allen of Louisiana; and her Aunt Gerlean Green of Connecticut.
