Martha Prescott, 85, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Craighead County Nursing Center. She was born in Jonesboro, on June 14, 1940, to James and Ruth Jones. Martha worked for the Coca Cola Co, in Human Resource/Payroll for many years. She was a member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. Martha enjoyed being outdoors, raking leaves, picking up sticks, gardening and going shopping.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband of 51 years, James Prescott and grandson, Justin West.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Needham (Terry), Michael Prescott; daughters, Denise Whaley (Jim), Michelle McCrackin (Byron); grandchildren, Tabitha Whaley (Devin Weaver), Chelsey Gann (James), Jared West, Brandy Turner (James), Joshua McCrackin (Lainee) and Makayla Lankford (Brandon); eleven great grandchildren; brother, James Jones (Mary Beth); sister, Betty Edgar.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, 10:00 am, at Philadelphia Cemetery, with Dr. Jim Whaley, Jr., and Bro. Mike Book officiating.
Those honored as pallbearers are her grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials can be made to, Bundle of Blessings, Prospect Missionary Baptist Church, 1603 N AR-351, Jonesboro, 72401. This is to help mothers in need.
