Twyla Ann Umfleet, age 71, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on November 12, 1954, in Lincoln, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ada Umfleet, and her husband, Tom Poppelrieter.
Twyla is survived by her sister, Dawn Renae Umfleet, Little Rock, her three sons: David Burnette of Nashville, Tennessee; Daniel Burnette of Fort Worth, Texas; and John Burnette of Nashville, Tennessee; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Ava Burnette, Bradleigh Burnette, and Gray Burnette. To those who knew her best, she was lovingly known as ''YaYa.''
Twyla was a living example of Christ-like love. Meek yet courageous, she treated everyone with dignity, compassion, and grace. She devoted her life to serving others and leaves behind a legacy of faith, humility, and servant leadership.
She began her career as a Registered Nurse in clinical settings, later serving in rural home health before dedicating many years to public service with the Arkansas Department of Health and the Department of Human Services, from which she retired after faithful service.
Twyla found joy in flowers, baking with her grandchildren, and making her cherished strawberry icebox jam each spring. She was active in her faith community, attending Mosaic Church during its formative years and later serving at Grace United.
She was an extraordinary woman and the cherished matriarch of her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2206, at Grace United Church,12900 Cantrell Rd, Little Rock AR 72223.

Twyla was a very special friend to me for 40+ years. I am thankful for her love and friendship. My deepest condolences to her family in the loss of such a wonderful woman.
