She mentioned a few of the greatest inspirations in her life as being Hazel Taylor, Fern Quattlebaum, Betty Waldon, Pat Wheeler and Mary Jo Burks. She said if she could live her life again, she would learn how to swim.

The family expresses deep gratitude to the 8Th floor nursing staff at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City for the compassion, kindness, and dedication they had for Joann.

As many words as they are in the dictionary, they still fall short in adequately describing JoAnn.
She was courageous bold, kind, intelligent, tenacious, and a friend to all. For within her tiny frame stood a giant of a woman. She was extraordinary.

Although she had many physical difficulties, - she always bounced back so she could return to her community of friends that she loved.

Rest in Peace Lady J. I love you.

My wife, Janet was an acquaintance with Joanna, they were talking about what Curtis Was working in Texas in the oil pipe business. My wife told her that my husband done that in Lousiana, she told my wife to tell me to go out to the farm & talk to Curtis about a job, the rest is history. The Clark’s were a great family to work for

I had the privilege of working with Mrs. JoAnn at the college. She was always so kind and gracious to me. When she retired, I truly missed her presence. She carried a warmth and gentle spirit that made a difference. May her family feel surrounded by love, comfort, and strength in the days ahead.

Boys - I could write a book of great memories from our childhood with your folks & mine beginning on Cedar Drive and taking us all over … your Mom was absolutely THE best friend to my parents and then me … she was sweet and kind in the way that most of us can only wish to be because that was what was in her heart. Keeping you all in my prayers and in my heart. Much love -
