William Elmer Thompson was born August 4,1956 in Allegan, Michigan to Mary Jean Knolten and Robert Joseph Thompson.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Jean Thompson (Knolten), father, Robert Joseph Thompson and brother, Larry Joe Thompson.
William Thompson, better known as "Bill" to everyone that knew him, passed away on February 26th, 2026, at his home in Barney, Arkansas, at the age of 69. He married the love of his life Paula Lynn Thompson on October 7th, 1989. Bill was the type of man that would stop everything to help anyone out no matter what. He loved spending time out in his shop working. But the thing he loved the most was spending time with his family. He loved being outdoors going camping, fishing, four wheeling or even just going out for a jeep ride with his wife, kids or grandkids. Bill loved the lord.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Paula Lynn Thompson of Barney Arkansas. Their four children, daughter, Helen Leighann Hong and her husband, Qi Long Hong and their daughter Junie Mei Hong of Fayetteville, Arkansas; son, William McKenzie Thompson and his girlfriend, Kaitlynn Day and their children, Ace Myles Thompson and Emmet Milo Thompson of Barney, Arkansas; daughter, Sarah Jean Thompson and her husband, Alexis De Los Santos and their children, Lillian Vanessa De Los Santos, Camila Michelle De Los Santos, Liam Alexis De Los Santos and Elizabeth Matilda De Los Santos of Barney, Arkansas; son, Brandon Taylor Thompson and his son, Ryker Leon Thompson of Heber Springs, Arkansas. Bill is also survived by his brothers, Bob Thompson and his wife, Vikki Thompson of Tennessee, and Joe Thompson of Michigan, along with a host of nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and many great friends.
There will be a memorial visitation service held at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00pm.

Bill was a joy to visit with.. he was as a wealth of knowledge…. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix! I loved watching him ride the horses and the motorcycles up and down the road back in the day. He will surly be missed by everyone on Tanyard. It breaks by heart for the family to loose such a treasured man.

Mr. Bill will be deeply missed. He had the kindest heart and brought so much warmth and laughter wherever he went. Being around him always felt easy and joyful. He truly cherished his Jeep rides, his home, and most of all, his family. The love he had for those closest to him was something special and beautiful to witness.
Praying for comfort, strength, and peace for everyone who loved him. He was a genuinely good man, and his memory will forever be a blessing.
