October 10, 1932 - February 21, 2026

Raymond Robert Roush, 93, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, went to heaven Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was born on October 10, 1932, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to the late Robert and Edith (Beery) Roush.

On May 28, 1955, he married the love of his life, Betty Jane (Fair) Roush, in Big Beaver, Michigan. Together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another until her passing.

Raymond and his wife were faithful members of Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years, where they formed lasting friendships and remained active in their church community. He was a proud United States Navy veteran who honorably served his country. Raymond had a naturally curious mind and a knack for understanding how things worked. He could often be found taking things apart and carefully putting them back together again, simply for the joy of discovery and learning.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Ora Roush of Mountain Home. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Betty Jane.

Services for Mr. Roush will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home. Friends and family may sign the online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/mtnhome.

Ray LOVED his Church and his Church family loved him. Sunday without Ray was just not right. When he felt the need to move into Mountain Home, he wasn’t going to be able to get to church on his own. We knew that we should get him to church. We took him when we could and there was someone else we called if we couldn’t. When we would get to Sycamore House, he was always ready to go, usually sitting on the porch, with that happy smile and sparkle in his eyes. We always got to hear a good joke or two on the drive out to church. And we got the first Ray hugs of the day!
Spending time with someone of his age, that was full of stories and interesting things he had learned in life was a blessing to us.
When Ray got to church he just beamed with love for his church family.

Ray was the perfect name for him. He was a Ray of Love, a Ray of Joy, a Ray of Peacefulness, a Ray of Kindness, a Ray of Gentleness, a Ray of Goodness, a Ray of Sunshine, and a Ray of Faith.
He was a BEACON of the spirit of God everywhere he went. He couldn’t hide it. That spirit just shined from those kind, gentle blue eyes and his smile was one of contentment.
He was such a good example to us. We never heard a negative word from him. And even up to 93 years of age, he was still walking or riding his stationary bike every day! Wow!
When we get to heaven, we know who will be waiting right there for us, to give us great big hugs and get to introduce us to his beautiful bride, Betty.
We will never forget our friend and brother in Christ,
Jim & Wilda

Best wishes to Elizabeth on the loss of your dad. We know that Ray is absent from the body, but he is present with Jesus. Remembering also Betty who precedes him. Heaven is sweeter to us with our loved ones who get there before us.

I loved Ray and Betty. I met them when I started coming to Trimble Campground church when I began dating the "preacher's kid." They were both kind and always smiling. After Betty passed some years ago, Ray found some old home movies from when they were in Florida. He asked me to dub them to DVD so he could save them and watch them again. It was a joy to help, and I feel as if I got to know them better while watching the video while it was copying over. Ray was kind, and thoughtful. He gave the best hugs. Every time I saw him, without fail. Once he brought me a gift just because he thought of me when he saw it. It was a white belt with music notation on it. I will keep it always :) I hope he would like to know that. I SO look forward to another of those great hugs as soon as I see him again in heaven. Until then, goodbye for now, my brother in Christ! 💜💜💜

I have known Ray and his late wife Betty for about 30 plus years. We attended church with them all these years. When Miss Betty was alive she never forgot an event to give my two boys a small gift. Not only at Christmas,Easter, birthday, but many just because times! I never saw Ray without a smile. His hugs were well worth the trip to church. His love and dedication to Christ was inspiring. But what I admired and desired the most was his peace. I have never known a more peaceful and serene man. He will be missed for a very long time. I know he and Ms Betty will be waiting for us with those heart-warming hugs. Sorry to you for your loss and sorry to everyone who knew him. What a friend he was. Sincerely,
Connie Hicks

Ray was like the grandpa I never really got to have. He never missed a hug when he showed up to church and that meant a lot to me. I felt a special bond with him,a quiet Bond but we both knew that something was there. I never had the pleasure of meeting his wife but just knowing what I did about Ray he's such a kind gentle soul. She was very blessed to have had him as her man on Earth.
Ray never complained that I knew of and he was always quick with a joke and a smile. I can find it in him a few years back when I wrote him a Christmas letter and he never forgot about that. Every time he saw me he would remind me that he still has that letter that it touched him very much. I was fortunate to go and see him a week prior to him going home to heaven.
And he reminded me then about that letter. It warms my heart knowing that he was in a place that was not strange to him he knew the facility and the workers and his last days. He was there with his daughter and he was able to have lunch and breakfast with her and visit with her and that warms my heart.
He was not lonely he did not feel lonely he felt like he was around friends and family when he passed and that is a true blessing. I will miss his hugs but I know waiting for me at the gate Ray's going to be there with a big hug for me.

All my love
Vanessa
