Virginia Louise Maynard, 88, of Jonesboro, AR, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro. She was born on August 5, 1937, in Jonesboro, AR, to Erney and Liza (Smith) Hamilton. Virginia worked as a supply coordinator for St. Bernards Hospital until her retirement. She was a deacon as well as a secretary of the Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she participated in many retreats. She loved to sew and garden, and she was an excellent cook, making some of the best fried chicken you ever ate!
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of more than thirty years, Floyd Maynard, her parents, son David Maynard, brothers James Hamilton and Elmer Hamilton, and sister Wanda Hamilton.
Those left to remember Virginia are her children, sons Ricky Maynard and John (Jerri) Maynard and daughters Carol Garrett, Gale (Danny Cassels) Chapman, and Nancy Darlene (Robert) Scozzari; grandchildren Shane, Hayley, Johnathan, Michael, Larry, Kimberly, Jimmy, Magan, Jermey, and Brian; 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; brother Leon (June) Hamilton; and many more family, friends and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2pm at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home (1900 W. Washington Ave. Jonesboro, AR 72401). Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 1pm.
Virginia's grandsons will honorably serve as pallbearers.
Arrangements are under the care of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
