Larry S. Shannon, 71, of Joiner, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. He was born in Osceola, Arkansas on June 19, 1954, to Melvin and Bobbie Shannon. Larry was a member of Wilson Methodist Church. He had retired from farming and enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching old westerns and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Cindy Shannon, sons: Steven, Heath, daughter: Jamie, brother: Ricky (Vickie), Shannon, stepmother: Joann Shannon and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Melvin Eugene Shannon Jr. A visitation will be held at Wilson Methodist Church on Monday, February 23, 2026, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Wilson Methodist Church and/or Louise Chapel Cemetery.

Larry and i went to school together until the consolidation, I always considered him a good friend. My prayers are with the Shannon family

I’m very sorry to hear about Larry. I talk about him a lot because when I was younger he would get on me for chewing ice in the truck because he didn’t like the sound.
The older I’ve gotten, the less I like it and I think about him every time I tell somebody to stop!
