Ronnie Joe Fowlkes was born on December 26, 1946, in Vilonia, Arkansas, and passed away on February 16, 2026, in Conway, Arkansas, surrounded by loved ones.
He was the son of Aaron and Lorene Fowlkes, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald, Tommy, and Freddie, as well as his nephews Jeffery Fowlkes, Wade Williams, and Chris Mathis, and one niece, Kelly Dawn Thomas Moore.
Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, and his daughters; Rhonda (Thomas) Hambuchen and Mitzi (Kent) Brown. He leaves behind three beloved grandchildren; Natalie, Grayson, and Ethan Hambuchen who brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by his sister Karon (Jerry) Williams and his brother Johnny (Jackie) Fowlkes, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronnie's life was enriched by his extended family, whom he loved dearly: Donnie, Ashley, and Avery Farmer. His four-legged grandbabies; Charlie, Darcie, and Opie were cherished companions.
A lifelong resident of Vilonia, Ronnie dedicated 45 years to policing. He served 34 years on the Vilonia Water Works Board and was a faithful Gideon for 25 years. He was a lifelong member of Centerpoint Freewill Baptist Church.
Ronnie graduated from Vilonia High School with the Class of 1966 and completed the Arkansas Police Academy in 1976. He served as a constable and police officer in the Enola, Allport, Vilonia, and Mount Vernon communities for many years. In addition to his public service, he owned and operated his own construction company beginning in 1975. He was also a member of the Vilonia Fire Department and a founding member of the Vilonia East Fire Department.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Fowlkes, Daron Williams, Jared Fowlkes, Donnie Farmer, Grayson Hambuchen, Ethan Hambuchen, James Smith, and Dusty Mathis. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Baker, Curt Hicks, Blake Fowlkes, Tony Fowlkes, and the Faulkner County North Gideons.
A visitation will be held on Thursday February 19, 2026, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held at Center Point Free Will Baptist Church on Friday February 20, 2026, being officiated by Brother Joel Kircher and Brother Daron Williams starting at 10am with burial to follow at Vilonia Cemetery.
