of Osceola, AR
September 30, 1974 - February 8, 2026
Joe Brooks III, of Osceola, Arkansas, went on to be with the Lord on February 8, 2026. He was born September 30, 1974, in Osceola, to the late Joe Brooks Jr. and Bernice Brooks. Joe enjoyed fishing, watching football, and baseball. He had a few endearing names for his mother, depending on his mood (Mom, Mommy, Mama Tee, and Mrs. Brooks). His son, Gerald Dee, was his forever heartbeat, and meeting his grandson, Adonis, brought him great joy.
Joe was a charming, gentle giant, and despite life's challenges, he lived a life filled with laughter and shared joy with everyone around him. Known for his warm smile and easy humor, Joe often surprised people with his quick wit and sharp comebacks. He had a quiet intelligence, a love for geography, and enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams. He enjoyed going to the gym with lil Mo, as his motivator and ball feeder, while he practiced shooting. Joe was loving, kind, and happiest when spending time with his family and friends, especially his ''Bop-Bop'' and Main-Man, K'sean who shared an affectionate bond.
He was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Evadale, where he gave his life to the Lord as a young adult and sang in the choir. He could literally be found breaking into song almost anywhere.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Bernice Brooks; son, Gerald Deon Brooks (Amber); grandson, Adonis Deon Brooks; brothers, Jesse Leon Brooks and Sammy Nelson (Nikki); sisters, Gladys Richardson (Edward), Jacqueline Love (Albert), Lahoma Beal (William), Shiretta Brooks, and Varonda Brooks-Johnson; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joe Brooks Jr.; brothers, Malcolm Brooks, Forrest Brooks, and Stephen Brooks; and sisters, Debra Brooks, Ruthie Brooks, Audrey Brooks, Doris Brooks, and JoAnn Brooks.
Repass will be held at Eastside Baptist Church (Gym), Osceola.
