Betty Nell Sammon-Hodson, born November 1, 1937, peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on February 4, 2026, at the age of 88. Betty was blessed to share her life with three loving husbands, each of whom she cherished and who preceded her in death:
Richard Allen Sammon, her husband of 30 years; Fred Hodson, married 15 years; and Brian Bisgood, her companion of 12 years.
Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her son, Patrick J. Sammon (Lisa); her daughter, Michelle "Shelbie" Sammon-Gurley (Linc); her granddaughter, TaraLisa Galongo (Kristian); her great-grandchildren, Michael and Lennox; and her granddaughter, Christine Mulligan (Matthew). Her legacy of love, faith, and creativity will continue through every life she touched.
Betty lived a life poured out in service, creativity, and love. She devoted 27 years to the Department of Human Servicesâ€"15 years in Arkansas and 12 years in California-touching countless lives with her compassion, wisdom, and steadfast heart.
She was known for her infamous homemade cakes, beautiful wood crafts, her gift as a talented seamstress, and her heart and mind expressed through words as a published poet and writer, Whether baking, building, painting, stitching, or writing, she poured love into everything she created.
