of Paris, AR
November 15, 1942 - February 7, 2026
Donnie M. Reed, 83, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026 in Fayetteville surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 15, 1942 in Paris to his parents, Robert and Guy Ann (Carpenter) Reed.
Donnie was a 1961 graduate of Paris High School. He was a devoted husband who lived a life defined by love and hard work. He dearly loved his wife Sharon, and their marriage was a testament to commitment, faith and partnership. He dedicated many years of his life to the oil and gas industry, working for several oil field companies before retiring from XTO Energy. He travelled across the whole United States with his wife and three children in a single cab truck just to be together. Known for his strong work ethic and mechanical skill, Donnie was a gifted mechanic who could fix just about anything. He was a dedicated member of First Assembly of God Church in Paris. He faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendant and was a member of the church choir. Outside of work and church he loved being in the outdoors, whether it be fly fishing for crappie and bream, spending time at the family farm and countless trips to Branson where they loved to shop and eat.
In addition to loving and taking care of our precious momma, family was the most important part of his life. Many hours spent gathered around the table. He was always ready and willing to help us kids navigate life with sound advice and loving reassurance. We were ''The Reed Bunch'' and proud of it! We kids were raised in church all of our lives, our parents were a prime example of a Christ centered home. Momma and Daddy would both encourage us to follow Jesus, ''He is the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.'' John 14:6. He was the strongest man we knew, our Daddy, and he was our hero.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his high school sweetheart of 65 years, Sharon Kay (Whitson) Reed.
He is survived by his children, Tammy Tanner and husband Jeff of Pottsville, Donnie Reed and wife Amy of Bigelow, Kristi Davison and husband Daren of Bella Vista, and Rhonda Wilcox and husband Bill of Charleston; his sister, Darlene Plymale of Van Buren; his brother, Jeff Reed of Lavaca; six grandchildren, Dara Bollenbacher and husband Bryan, Nathan Cathcart and wife Emily, Hope Carter and husband Caleb, Austen Cathcart and wife Sydney, Bradon Street, and Faith Young and husband William and nine great-grandchildren, Luke and Zachary Bollenbacher, Collins and Corbin Cathcart, Reed and Rosie Kate Carter, Cain and Cash Cathcart and Bennett Young; his brother in law, Jim Whitson and wife Patti and a very special nephew, Gary Don Reed.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bro. Larry Hutchison. Private family burial will follow in Baxley Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Cathcart, Austen Cathcart, Bradon Street, Bryan Bollenbacher, Caleb Carter, and William Young.

Tammy, Donnie, Kristi, and Rhonda:
I'm so sorry about your dad's passing. It's hard on those left behind but always keep in mind that he is now healed and is back with your mom. They are both with the Father and are living in the the glory of heaven.
I'll never look out my back window and not think of the days we all used to spend playing together in the big yards surrounding our houses. I love you all like siblings and will keep you in my prayers as you go through the grieving process.
Always,
Vicki (Pooh)

To the Reed kids (you’ll always be kids to me): I am truly sorry for the loss of your dad. I know him really only by reputation and by the great family he and your mom raised. Those things assure me he was a man of faith and fine character. My heart goes out to you all.
