Johnny Blackford, 64, of Marion was born January 21, 1962, to John and Doris Blackford. Johnny went to be with his Lord on February 5, 2026. Johnny was most known for his presence in the community through his work with Blackford Painting Company, faithfully serving countless businesses, families, and homes across Crittenden County. He had a tender heart for others, always caring deeply about their well-being and finding joy in serving those around him. Johnny especially cherished being a devoted and loving grandfather. Johnny's church membership was at the First Baptist Church of Marion, AR.

Johnny was a dear husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Johnny is survived by his two children, John (Mallarie) Blackford III of Springfield, MO, and Erica Blackford of Marion. Johnny is also survived by his sister Sharon (Paul) Goode of Marion, father and mother-law Ranny (Maurice) Shortnacy and sister in-law Lee Anne (John) Swindler. Johnny is also survived by three grandchildren: Roslyn Blackford, Brooklyn Blackford, and Koby Dent. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents John (Doris) Blackford, sister Janet Blackford, and his wife Jana Shortnacy Blackford.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Tuesday, February 10th at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home of West Memphis, AR with funeral services held at First Baptist Church West Memphis on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, at 11:00am with burial will follow at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Trip Ministry Fund at South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield, 2353 S. Campbell Ave. Springfield, MO. 65807. Missouri which supports an annual mission trip where volunteers travel to communities across the country to complete construction projects for local churches and those in need.

Mackie and I are so sorry to hear of Johnny’s passing! Remember him well growing up. He was four years older than my oldest son, Mark. He lived in “Old Marion”( as we call it now) not far from us and we went to the same church, just plain Marion Baptist, back then.
