Bobbie Jean Denton

of Scranton, AR

October 4, 1934 - January 30, 2026

Bobbie Jean Denton, 91, a resident of Scranton, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Clarksville. She was born on October 4, 1934, in Chickalah, Arkansas, to John and Fannie (Rheuark) Sims.

Bobbie's greatest pleasures came through her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. Many were blessed with her beautiful quilts, embroidery, thousands of lovingly-prepared meals, and hours of conversation, but mostly loving prayers to the Savior on our behalf. She tended her vegetable and flower gardens with love, and she nurtured her family well.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Howard Thomas Denton; her parents, John and Fannie Sims; and eight siblings.

Bobbie is survived by her sons, Steve Denton of Bryant, Arkansas, Calvin Denton of Morrilton, Arkansas, and Bryan Denton of Scranton, Arkansas; her daughters, Jan Miller of Hagarville, Arkansas, and Belinda Claunch, of Greenbrier, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Alton Sims of Charleston, Arkansas, and Cecil Sims of Tracy, California; and numerous other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.

My heart is with the family today. I'll always remember Grandma Jean standing at the stove frying fish with a full house of chaos. She was strong, steady, and generous. She will be missed.
With love,
Ashlie, Mike, Quinton, and Margot

Jean was very special to all who knew her. There was always room around the dinner table for one of her delicious home cooked meals followed warm talks afterward. She loved well and prayed well. Always kind with words of wisdom to share.

My deepest sympathies to Steve, Jan, Calvin, Brian, Belinda and families. You loved your mama well and made her so very happy. My prayer is that you rest in the wonderful memories of her and take them—and her love—with you going forward. God bless you all.

Jean was such a special lady from the days long ago when I spent some time with her. Always had something spiritual to say to bring out the best in people. A wonderful lady and I’m sure will be truly missed by many!
