Harald John Allen Tilley

of Dardanelle, AR

September 21, 1939 - January 26, 2026

Harald John Allen Tilley, age 86 of Dardanelle, Arkansas went to his heavenly home on Monday, January 26th, 2026 in Danville, Arkansas. He was born on September 21st, 1939 in Big Flat, Arkansas to Thomas Newton Tilley II and Dessie Jane Ramsey Tilley. His birth was incorrectly recorded as September 20th so he jokingly always celebrated two birthdays.

Harald grew up in Big Flat, AR and attended College of the Ozarks (Hard work U) in Hollister, MO. He was a Manager in the Manufacturing Industry for most of his career. He retired in Arkansas and later was called to preach. He was saved at age 33 years in Pine Grove Church and was a current member of New Life Outreach Church in Danville, AR. He loved to listen and sing along to Gospel Music. He was praising and raising his hands to heaven up to his final days on earth. Harald loved God, his family, friends, dogs, and sports. He will be remembered for his kindness and respect showed to all. It was easy for him to make lifelong friends wherever his career or life took him. Harald always said his desire was to know that all his loved ones knew Jesus and they would be together again one day. He was also an avid sports fan. Baseball, Basketball, and Golf were among his hobbies and favorite stories of past experiences.

Harald is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carrol Sue Freeman Tilley of the home; daughters, Jeana Sherman (Clyde) of Dardanelle and Sondra Mize (Terry) of Big Flat; grandchildren, Steven Fulmer of Kansas City, MO, Makenzie Arnold of Lowell, Elizabeth Monroe (Aaron) of Watertown, TN, and Candace Chapman (William) of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren, Ella Chapman, Xander Miller, Brooke Monroe, Jonathon Monroe, and Emma Monroe; two great-great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Harald is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Dessie Tilley; and siblings, Kenneth Dale Tilley, Harry Tilley, Hugh Tilley and Eugenia Tilley McGehee.

Funeral services for Harald will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. W.A. Gorman and Bro. Tollie Sutterfield officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 till 11:00 preceding the service. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories. Burial will follow in Freeman Cemetery in Stone County, Arkansas. Bearers will be Randy Koscielak, Charles ''Maverick'' Dunn, Nathan Treadwell, Jeff Ramsey, Darrell Ramsey, Tim Massey, Terry Horton, and Hughy Ragland.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to College of the Ozarks, Development Office, PO Box 17, Point Lookout, Missouri 65726 or Hospice of your choice.

Sorry to hear of Harald's passing. He was a fine man and everyone that met him knew that. I played softball with him or the old Loafers Glory team in the 80's. He, Bobby Freeman and I shared rides when we played in a fall league in Harrison a few years. good times and conversation with them, thought the world of both. Prayers for family and friends

So sorry to hear of the passing of Harald. He was a good guy. He could be very stern as a supervisor, but that is what makes a good supervisor but he could also be a lot of fun. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. RIP Harald.
