Gerald (Jerry) Arthur BorggrenI am a Veteran.

of Little Rock, AR

November 14, 1942 - January 22, 2026

Gerald "Jerry" Arthur Borggren, age 83, stepped into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 22, 2026, in Little Rock, AR. Jerry was born November 14, 1942, in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Marjorie Borggren.

Jerry accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in his teenage years through the ministry of Beverly Evangelical Covenant Church in Chicago, IL. He faithfully served the Lord throughout his life through various ministries in the church. He was a beloved and devoted member of Hebron Baptist Church in Little Rock where he served for many years as both an ordained deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He also devoted his time, energy, and resources to the Gideons International because he wanted as many people as possible to have access to the Word of God throughout the world. His desire to minister stemmed from his love for Christ and was evident in practical ways to his family.

Jerry's faithfulness also extended into his professional life. He served in Vietnam as a proud member of the United States Air Force. He retired from Southwestern Bell after over 40 years of committed service. After retiring, he spent nearly 20 years serving at Roller Funeral Home, where he found great fulfillment in caring for families during their time of need. He was dedicated to all that he did in life. His hobbies included: playing and watching sports such as baseball, basketball, football, and golf. He was hardworking, determined, generous, and selfless. He was always looking out for the needs of his wife, children, and grandchildren. His dedication to all his responsibilities was shaped by his faith in Jesus.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Nathan Borggren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Helen; daughter Angela Scott (Brent); and son Brad (Krystal). He is also survived by his grandchildren Riley Scott, Sam Scott, Lily Borggren, and Lynton Borggren; one brother, Larry Borggren (Karen) and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was loving and faithful in each of these relationships.

But for Jerry, all is not past; as now he is rejoicing in the presence of Jesus, for to be away from the body is to be at home with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). His fight against sin, pain, and death is over, and for Jerry eternal life has begun through faith in Jesus Christ.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:30pm, Friday January 30, 2026, at Hebron Baptist Church 18715 Kanis Rd. Little Rock, AR 72223. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 11:00 am at Hebron Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International.

I have a high regard for Jerry’s commitment to the Lord that I observed in our occasional work together in the Gideons International. He was a fine example to me and many others.
May the Lord bless his family during this time of grief and give them the “Peace beyond all human understanding “
