Janie ''MaMaw'' Young, 88, of Paris, Arkansas passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Charleston with her loved ones by her side.
Janie was born on December 21, 1937, in Midway, Arkansas to her parents Bennie Lowe and Mae (Adams) Lowe. She worked as a cook for several of the nursing homes in the area. She loved to cook and some of the families' favorite items she made were her biscuits and chocolate gravy and fried potatoes. Besides cooking she enjoyed potted plants, playing bingo, watching game shows and WWE wrestling.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of thirty plus years, Holmon Young; her son, Nelson Young; her daughter, Mae Pearl McGrath; brothers, Kenneth Lowe, Bobby Lowe and BC Lowe; her sisters, Anna Lee Redding and Jeanette Dorrough; grandchildren, William Young and Amanda Young.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Young of Paris; her daughter, Darlene Blalock and husband Edward of Paris; her sister, Elwanda Bridges of Paris; grandchildren, Jeff Young, Kenneth Blalock, Rebecca Young, Zack Young and Rufus Young; several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; several other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Roller Funeral Home in Paris followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., burial will follow the service at May Cemetery in New Blaine.
Funeral service and arrangements are under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Jeramiah Young, Jeff Young, Zack Young, Aiden Young, Noah Crane and Zander Young.

Janie was a very kind person and so good to my mother! Condolences to all the family! May her sweet soul rest in peace!
